Attention of football fans across the globe will be on the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica in Lisbon, Portugal, tomorrow for another exciting moment of soccer, as the final of the 2020 UEFA Champions League holds.

The venue also known as the Estádio da Luz (Stadium of Light), the home of 37-time Portuguese champions, Benfica, was rebuilt to host games (including the final) of UEFA EURO 2004, and also staged the 2014 UEFA Champions League final, in which Real Madrid beat city rivals Atlético 4-1 after extra time to become European champions for a tenth time.

It promises to be an epic showdown between French and German continental heavyweights, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

The historical final is the 65th season of Europe’s premier club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 28th season since it was renamed from the European Champion Clubs’ Cup to the UEFA Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain earned their place in the showpiece match with a comfortable 3-0 win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday, with Marquinhos, Angel Di Maria and Juan Bernat scoring the goals for the Parisians, who will contest their first-ever UEFA Champions League final and seek to complete a quadruple of trophies in the 2019-20 season (having also claimed Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue).

Bayern Munich, which has been the most impressive team in these latter stages of the UEFA Champions League confirmed their place in the final with a 3-0 triumph over Olympique Lyon on Wednesday evening, with Serge Gnabry (two) and Robert Lewandowski netting the goals.

Tomorrow’s final could see Bayern, break Barcelona’s scoring record in the Champions League, having played seven less matches in what pundits call the deadliest scoring paring in the UCL of Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry.

SuperSport 5 (DStv channel 225) and SuperSport 8 (DStv channel 228) and SuperSport Select 5 (GOtv channel 36), which will air the match, has promised its viewers a compact match build-up programming, including highlights of past games involving the two finalists.
