 WhatsApp is on the verge of releasing new features to its messaging platform so they've decided to drop some Android and iOS devices that won't be compatible with these new features.

This change came as a result of both operating systems and applications that'll be required to keep the app up to date.

For this reason, we'll give you a list of Android and iPhone devices that won't be compatible with the WhatsApp messenger come 2021.

List of Android devices that won't be compatible with WhatsApp 2021

As of 2021; WhatsApp will be compatible with all android phone with version 4.0.3 and above.

Phones like;

• HTC Desire,
• LG Optimus Black, 
• Motorola Droid Razr,
• Samsung Galaxy S2 e.t.c

Will no longer be compatible with WhatsApp Messenger.

List of iPhone devices that won't be compatible with WhatsApp 2021

Come 2021; any iPhone that doesn't have at least IOS 9 won't be compatible with WhatsApp Messenger.

Which implies that iPhone 4 and earlier models will be affected undoubtedly.

However, iPhone 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6 and 6S models should simply upgrate their operating system to IOS 9 or greater to continue using WhatsApp.

Nevertheless, In the case of the 6S, 6S Plus and the first generation iPhone SE, they are the last to support the latest version of the system, iOS 14.

How to Continue Using WhatsApp on these Smartphones

The only way that'll be possible is if your operating system recieved a patch update aside from which you'll have to get a new phone to continue using WhatsApp.

Android:

iPhone:

> Go to settings > General > Information.

> You should see the IOS version installed on the phone.
