A bicameral legislature is one in which the legislators are divided into two separate assemblies, chambers or houses. Bicameralism is distinguished from unicameralism, in which all of the members deliberate and vote as a single group, and from some legislatures which have three or more separate assemblies, chambers or houses.

The commonwealth is a voluntary association of the independent countries of the former British Empire. That is to say that, it is made up of Britain and countries that were at one point in time or the other British colonies or its dependents.
Former British colonies of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, New Foundland and South Africa in 1907 started regular meetings known as "Imperial Conference" in London.
These colonies were called "Dominions" and they criticised the word in the sense that it was synonymous with domination. That brought about the "Commonwealth of Nations for the independent countries in the British Empire.
